25 Hours Hotel, Købmagergade

Copenhagen, Denmark

2022

In the city centre of Copenhagen, the 18th century building that once housed the Royal Porcelain Factory, today known as Royal Copenhagen, and later the university of theology and law, has undergone a full restoration and opened its doors for the public in 2022.

The design mission for the hotel was to tell a story based on the old university, which comes alive by the themes ‘coming-of-age’ and ‘we never grow up’. The hotel’s interior is designed in a bold and eclectic design, and the degree of customization makes the project particularly special. For each Public area, whether it is the reception area, lobby area, wellness area, restaurants or bar, and for the 243 rooms, a range of more than 30 lamp variants was designed and customized by MADE SPECIFIC for the hotel interior.

The lighting for the hotel project includes an extensive range of materials including wood, textile, metal, glass and ceramics, and were all assembled by hand at the Frandsen Bespoke factory. MADE SPECIFIC are specialists when it comes to different materials and have an extensive range of business partners.
