Located at the meeting point between the city and the waterfront, Scandic Spectrum is designed as a vibrant destination. An urban space where locals and international guests come together to connect, unwind, and experience Copenhagen.

For this project, Made Specific developed bespoke lighting solutions for the guest rooms, with a focus on creating a calm and comfortable atmosphere that contrasts the hotel’s lively public spaces. The rooms are designed as a place to slow down—where tactile materials, soft tones, and warm lighting invite guests to relax.

A sculptural floor lamp with integrated functionality introduces both light and utility, combining a soft ambient glow with a practical surface. Complementing this, a refined table lamp adds a more intimate layer of light, supporting moments of rest, reading, or quiet focus. The lighting is carefully balanced to feel warm and unobtrusive, enhancing the natural material palette without dominating the space.

Together, the elements create a layered lighting composition that feels intuitive and human, where function and atmosphere are equally considered. The result is a guest room experience that feels grounded, welcoming, and effortlessly comfortable.
